My perspective on business changed in ways I didn’t expect.
When I started my business degree, I had no idea how much my perspective would change over time. In my first years, most of the focus was on coursework, grades, and learning the theory behind how businesses operate.
As I’ve worked on real projects, especially in real estate development, I’ve started asking different questions. I now consider not only how something is built, but also:
• Who is this actually for?
• What demand exists in the market?
• How do demographics and trends shape development decisions?
• What makes one project succeed while another struggles?
As I enter the final months of my degree at the University of Ottawa, I’m trying to approach things differently. Less about rushing to the finish line and more about using this time to learn from the people, projects, and conversations around me.
There’s still a lot I don’t know, and that’s part of what makes the process interesting.
